Dedicated to the memory of Colin Hopkins

Colin was born 8th July 1950 in Manchester and died on the 9th November 2017 in Warwick  - somewhat ironic as he loved Shakespeare all his life. We had gone there for a weekend break when he took ill. He had only been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in May but had obviously been ill for a long time but as Colin put it he thought it was "just my age". He had taught English for over 40 years and had only retired two years previously. He was a great raconteur, avid reader and a collector of books, records and posters. Colin had a zest for life and had an amazing knowledge on virtually every subject going. People gravitated towards him - he made people feel special which was evident at the amount of people at his funeral.  He was a wonderful friend, brother in law, uncle and loving and devoted father to Christopher, Abigail and Nicholas who miss him greatly.  Colin was my husband, teacher and best friend who has left a hole in my heart forever.

We would like any money raised in Colin's memory to be used for the illness he died from Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
